Ah that magic time has come round again. The end of the school holidays – summer has officially ended. Autumn term has beguneth and all’s well in the world of adults with no young dependants! Each child of school age who fits into the mainstream system will have been graded before entry – the baseline tells teachers where each child in their cohort starts and the progress made during their school experience. This information is taken into account when they move on up through the various divisions of education.
There really is no excuse for a child to not make progress from the very first moment in a class. Whatever their background or experiences prior to starting school, it is designed in such a way that each child is encouraged to join in, mix, contribute and enjoy learning. Those who cannot do this tend to get excluded if they lose the plot and start disrupting class.
